The East London IDZ’s Science and Technology Park (ELIDZ STP) recently became a member of the International Association of Science Parks (IASP).
The IASP is the worldwide network of science parks and areas of innovation. It connects the professionals managing science, technology and research parks (STPs) and other areas of innovation and provides services that drive growth and effectiveness for its members.
This international authentication helps rank the ELIDZ STP amongst the highest-level science parks in the world.
As an IASP member and a high value-added park, ELIDZ STP now enjoys services such as authority certification, membership networks, knowledge and information sharing, and international demonstration platforms. This adds a significant dimension to the ELIDZ STP’s ability to enhance the competitiveness of companies and entrepreneurs in the region, in so doing, contributing to global economic development through innovation, entrepreneurship, and the transfer of knowledge and technology.
With headquarters in Spain, the IASP was founded in 1984 and consists of Asia-Pacific, European, North American and Latin American branches. It is the only international association for scientific parks, enterprise incubators and other innovative organisations worldwide. With over 200 members in 54 countries, the IASP assembles a great number of science parks around the world. The organisation aims to promote communication and cooperation among parks and innovative technology organisations.
The IASP is an NGO in Special Consultative Status with the Economic and Social Council of the United Nations. It is also a founding member of the World Alliance for Innovation - WAINOVA.
